Do Something Good Day Welcome

Welcome to Do Something Good Day!

Our message is simple. At Do Something Good Day we know every person has the ability to make a difference. The smallest act of kindness and every contribution to a good cause can make a world of difference.

When a tiny pebble is dropped into a pool of water, ripples spread out across the entire surface of the pond. We believe that, like the pebble, a good deed makes a ripple that spreads across the entire planet spreading happiness, gratitude and good will.

This is the default caption.

Take a moment to imagine what it might be like if every person in your neighborhood were to do just one simple good deed -- like picking up the paper for the elderly man who lives around the corner; or helping the young mother across the street with her many bags of groceries; or perhaps it's simply a wave and a friendly smile for the garbage man. What a difference that would make!

Now, what do you suppose would happen if these good deeds were to spread to your entire town, or to the entire world? It would make a world of difference!Do Something Good Day - Today and Everyday - Make Good Things Happen

Do Something Good Day is here to help you make a difference in a way that is fun, rewarding and fulfilling.

Enter a Good Deed that you've done and receive The Giving Award as our way of recognizing your positive impact on the world. You will find The Giving Award and more gifts under the Free Goods tab.

If you are not sure where to begin, simply click on the Good Ideas tab for some great suggestions to help you get started.

Join the Do Something Good Online Group. Membership to the Online Group is absolutely free.  All we ask is that you do a good deed.  For our membership guidelines simply click on the Group tab.  We will also provide you with Getting Started information, as well as Support Material for your continued success.

To make doing good deeds even more fun and rewarding, we have created The Giving Card, which is a tremendously fun and exciting way of doing good and spreading good deeds.

The Giving Card is really fun and simple to use. When you get the card, you do something good and then come to this website to register your good deed, along with the card number. Then you pass the card along, explaining how it works. The next person to receive the card then does a good deed and registers their own good deed using the card number.

One of the most exciting parts about using The Giving Card is that you can check on the card number to see all the good deeds that have been done because you passed the card along. You get to watch and see just how much of a difference you make in the world. We think you will be amazed!

Some of the other things you'll find here at Do Something Good Day are Good News articles.

victorine's Good Deed

A very dedicated group of people are working together to raise funds for a very special guy, Jordan Corkum!

I am holding this concert for Jordan Corkum on August 24, 2008 in Liverpool Nova Scotia at the Astor Theatre to raise funds to purchase a wheelchair accessible van to transport him around and get him out of the house. His story was recently featured on the Halifax news show Live at 5.

Carole's Good Deed
I am a veterinary technician, and today I took some extra time to explain to an an elderly owner how to give her cat a medication easily, so that she would not upset her cat or get bit. I also offered to do it for her each day if she could not do it herself.

Lisa's Good Deed
I really do try all the time to do good deeds, and I try to instill this in my son and daughter and they get it. I have an idea... Sometimes people think that the grass is always greener on the other side when they already have the greenest grass anyone could ever want. So I have decided to write a book about this to help others  realise they have been on the greenest grass all along.
